Smithfield - Curtis Ray Bowler, 51, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Logan Regional Hospital after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City on December 28, 1955 to Marion Eli Ramsey & Lenna May Wilson. He married Margaret Barker in 1975 and from this union came three children. They were later divorced. He married Jodi Lynne Dawson in 1994 and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Curt was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he had many callings. He served three years in the Elders Quorum Presidency and most recently spent time working on family history. He enjoyed attending the temple with his companion regularly. Curt loved and cherished his grandbabies and in return his grandchildren adored their ?Papa?. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, fly tying, collecting antiques, and wood working, but most of all spending time with his sweetheart. He kept busy taking loving care of his sweet mother, Lenna. His true love in life was his wife and family. Curt will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Lenna; his wife, Jodi; children: Kandace Robert McCreary of North Logan; Cody Camille Bowler of Ammon, Idaho; Charisse Jay Saxton of Smithfield; Lori Josh Durney of Logan; Jessica Rem Baird of Dayton, Idaho; and Rocky Mandy Bruderer of Logan and 7 grandbabies: Bailey and Sydnee Saxton; Hadlee and Brexton Baird; Hunter and Sawyer Bowler; and Brittany Shurley . He is also survived by his brothers: Charles Ruth; Elvin Jane; and Royal Luanne Bowler and two sisters, Maureen Doug Illum and Lena Ted Echols. Curt was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Shantay Bowler; his father, Marion Eli Ramsey; his step-father, Carl J. Jacobson; and his Grandpa and Grandma Wilson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Smithfield 17th Ward chapel, 79 East 200 South, with Bishop Roger Hansen conducting. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
