Providence

Darlene Jackson Woodhead died at the age of 90 on November 4, 2024 in Providence, Utah. She was born on October 18, 1934 in Firth, Idaho to Delbert and Odetta Madsen Jackson. She spent most of her youth in Jerome, Idaho. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1952. After graduation she got a job in a record shop next door to a drug store where Bob Woodhead was employed. They began dating in July of 1954 and were married February 5, 1955. Bob joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and on July 14, 1971 they were sealed in the Logan Utah Temple for time and all eternity. They were the parents of two wonderful sons, Douglas and Daniel. Darlene was a stay-at-home mom until 1973 when she got a part time job working at USU Telephone Services. After two years, Darlene was offered the job as a supervisor and trainer of the campus operations on the PBX telephone system. Darlene worked for USU for 25 years and made many wonderful friends. Her peers and operators were like a second family. She loved the operators and really enjoyed her years at USU and still holds her best friends dear to her.

Darlene loved her family. They were her top priority and would do anything for them. Darlene is survived by her sons, Douglas (Connie) Woodhead and Daniel (Sue) Woodhead, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Beverly (Ron) Adamson of Gooding, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Woodhead, her parents Delbert and Odetta Jackson, her father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Hilda Woodhead; 3 brothers, Fred, Tom and Guy Jackson; and 2 sisters, Donna Hathaway and Jeannie Bloom.
