Dee Ann Bird Smith

April 6, 1949 — March 10, 2024

Syracuse, Utah

Dee Ann was born to Alieen Christiansen and Rolen Lloyd Bird on April 6, 1949. in Logan, Utah Cache County. Dee Ann was married to Gerald R Smith on September 19, 1968, and later Sealed in the Logan Temple September 18, 1970. Together they had 6 children: Michelle, Christine, Robert Scott, Terry Jon (Deceased), Kelly Ann and Kaye Lynn.

Dee Ann loved her family and loved to be with them. She loved making quilts for each of her grandchildren and spoiling; 19 grand, and 13 great grandchildren. She was very talented and artistic, loved music and played the piano and organ beautifully.

Dee Ann had a strong testimony in God and her Savior Jesus Christ and loved them dearly. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a faithful servant, where she enjoyed working and serving in the Ogden Temple and fulfilled a two year Church Service Mission with her husband Jerry, and as Relief Society President of Syracuse Bluff West Stake and Syracuse Utah West Stake in Layton 15th and Canterbury Park Wards and looked forward faithfully and cheerfully to blessing the lives of those she was called to serve.

Dee Ann gracefully faced many health challenges presented to her by Multiple Sclerosis, Pulmonary Hypertension due to Aortic Stenosis, that took her life. We will miss Dee Ann dearly but gain peace knowing that she is free and clear to walk reunited with those who have gone before her.

Dee Ann is survived by her five children: Michelle, (Kenny deceased) Furgeson, Christine (Mike) Hufstetler, R. Scott (Heather), Kelly Ann (Wayne) Geisler, and Kaye Lynn Young. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many more family members, friends, and neighbors. She was loved by many and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one Sister Jeanine Bird Saxton. We are comforted in the knowledge of the many happy reunions which are occurring on the other side of the veil.

Dee Ann’s desire was to have a family gathering so members of her family could enjoy each other’s smiles, hugs, and memories at 11:00 am, March 15, 2024.
