Elaine Erickson, age 62, daughter of Glen William and Judith Ann Nielsen Erickson, passed away Monday Feb. 9, 2026. Elaine was born June 10, 1963 in Logan, Utah. She spent the early years of her life living in various states while her father served in the United States Air Force. Her family finally settled in Blanding, Utah, and Elaine finished her schooling there, graduating from San Juan High School in 1980.
Elaine lived a somewhat difficult life, as she was plagued by epileptic seizures all her life, and the necessary medications she took had side effects that were difficult for her. In spite of these problems, Elaine was a blessing to all those around her because of her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and would have long gospel conversations with anyone who wanted to hear. She was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and despite her chronic condition, she was blessed with miraculous health while serving as a full-time missionary in the New Mexico, Albuquerque mission.
Following her missionary service, she attended USU and CEU. Elaine worked at various odd jobs and always found satisfaction in a job well done. She never married, and though she spent stints living on her own, or with various family members and friends, she spent most of her life at home with her parents.
Elaine also loved music and she always blessed everyone around her with her love of singing and playing the piano, which she did so well. She also learned to be a good swimmer as well as a highly skilled seamstress in which she utilized her own sewing machine frequently. She loved sewing and giving gifts of her sewn creations to her family and anyone else in need.
Elaine also had an amazing working knowledge of Constitutional principles and was a fervent advocate of our God-given agency. She never shrank from expressing these eternal truths to others, especially to her own family members.
The last few years of her life were spent in Fayette, Utah living with her older sister Mary Ann, who provided Elaine with loving care and a good home. Elaine has blessed so many people and will always be remembered for her loving, timeless smile.
Elaine was preceded in death by her mother Judy, who died May 11, 2008. She is survived by her father Glen (Jeanine) Erickson, her three sisters; Mary Ann (Bruce) Ryan of Fayette, Utah, Elizabeth (Kevin) Smith of St. George Utah, Carolyn (Peet) Myburgh of Parowan, Utah, and her three brothers; John (Kathy) of Franklin, Idaho, Steven (Bonnie) of Preston, Idaho, and Nathan (Natalie) of Beaverdam, Utah.
