Frank Robert Alvares

Mar 27, 1963 — Oct 3, 2026

Frankie (Frank) Robert Alvares March 27, 1963 – October 3, 2026

Frankie (Frank) Robert Alvares of Smithfield, Utah, was born March 27, 1963, in Logan, Utah. Frank passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at Logan Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Frank was the youngest child born to Daniel and Florinda Alvares in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Smithfield along with his siblings, Danny, Nancy, Sammy, Sally, and Carol.

Growing up, Frank participated in wrestling and football and was involved in many shenanigans. Frank graduated from Sky View High School in 1981.

Frank married Vicki Spackman in 1982, and they were married for 18 years. From this union, they had two beautiful children, Brittany and Branden. Frank and Vicki later divorced. Later in life, he met Kaylene and married her in 2019.

In high school, Frank worked for Cache Valley Dairy, then held several part-time jobs. He worked in construction, starting with LeGrande Construction, and then worked for Staker Parson for 31 years before retiring in 2025.

Frank enjoyed cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He recently attended a game in Texas with his wife, which was a great experience for him. He enjoyed playing in pool leagues, camping and hunting with his family, having cookouts, and enjoying a cold Bud Light. He loved taking his dad out for drives before his dad’s passing.

Family meant everything to Frank, and everyone in his family could feel the love he had for all of them. Frank always told everyone that he loved them. Frank would give the shirt off his back and help anyone in need.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Kaylene; his children, Matt Mendelkow (Jaime), Brittany Nelsen (Jimmy), and Branden; his stepchildren, Brad Anderson, Kasey Williams, Brayden Anderson, and Kurtis Anderson; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Dallas Mendelkow; Sammy Alvares; Michael Alvares; Carol Mack; Danny Alvares; Melissa Alvares; and Tyson Alvares.
