Janet Bohman Knudsen

April 29, 1932 — June 16, 2023

Janet Bohman Knudsen, beloved mother, grandmother and friend returned home peacefully to her Heavenly Father on June 16, 2023

She was born April 29, 1932 in her family home in Morgan, Utah to Victor Hugo Bohman and Jessie Durrant. After graduating from Weber High School, she married Andrew Alonzo Knudsen, her best friend, on February 28, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity.

She and Andrew moved to Metropolis (Wells), Nevada where they ranched for 25 years. Together they raised 5 children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. In January of 1976 they moved to Smithfield, Utah where Janet continued to be a terrific homemaker and worked very hard. She made many dear friends in both Nevada and Utah. She was a talented seamstress and worked at Piece Goods fabric store. She enjoyed crafting but most of all loved playing her piano and organ. She taught piano lessons early in her life and accompanied many musical selections. One musical highlight for her was playing for a wedding in the Greek Orthodox Church in Salt Lake City.

Janet was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. She served in the Relief Society, Young Women’s program and never missed an opportunity to go visiting teaching or ministering, but her most favorite was the Primary where she served for over 60 years. Her most cherished calling was that of mother and wife.

She is survived by her sons Vaughn (Kim Corpany) of Morgan, UT; Carlyle (Margie Meacham) of South Jordan, UT; Reid, (Analee Spencer) of Mayfield, UT; Doyle (Jan Crossley) of Hyrum, UT; daughter Karen (Matt Larson) of Smithfield, UT; sister Nancyan (Dale Tracy) Penn Valley CA; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Victor Hugo Bohman; mother Jessie Durrant; husband, Andrew Alonzo Knudsen; brother Victor Hugo Bohman Jr.; granddaughter Sherilyn Piquet; grandsons Andy Robinson and Josh Bollar.

A special thank you to PrimRose Home Care & Hospice and Cache Valley Assisted Living staff for their kindness and care in her last days.
