Linda Jane Buoy Hanna passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 27, 1944, in Wilmar, California, to Warren Star Buoy and Mary Edna Crook.
Linda married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Andrew Hanna, on January 11, 1964. Their love story was one of devotion and joy, marked by shared passions such as roller skating and square dancing. Both Linda and Jerry were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith that became the foundation of their lives. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple on July 20, 1974. Gerald preceded Linda in death on December 1, 2009.
Linda is survived by her children: Timothy Hanna; Nina Day; Mary and Sage Price; Benjamin Hanna and Christy Hadley; and Cherie and William Bleicher. While she dearly loved her children, she often said—and joyfully demonstrated—that she loved her grandchildren even more. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and happiness to her.
A lifelong servant of the Lord, Linda spent many years teaching nursery and Primary children, touching countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and love. Alongside her husband, she served as a foster parent for many years and also cared for numerous children through babysitting, always opening her heart and home to those in need.
Linda found joy in simple, meaningful things: reading stories, making crafts, working on puzzles, and doing finger plays with children gathered around her. She had a beautiful singing voice, a gift she shared only with her family. She loved to cook for those she loved and treasured gathering together for holidays. Christmas held a special place in her heart—she loved it so much that her home remained decorated year-round, a reflection of the warmth, joy, and welcome she offered to everyone who entered.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Andrew Hanna; her brother, Warren; and her sister, Shirley.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Millville/Nibley Cemetery, located at 100 North in Millville, Utah. All friends and family are invited to attend. Linda’s favorite color was green, and to honor her memory, the family kindly invites guests to wear green.
Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and her boundless love for children and family. Her legacy of service, devotion, and joy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
