Lynette Spackman

Lynette Spackman, 69 peacefully passed away in her home in Logan, UT 6/29/26 after a short hard-fought battle with cancer.

Lynette was born 5/27/57 to Reed and Thailia Spackman. She was raised in Richmond, UT graduating from Sky View High then on to Utah State University. She resided in Logan the remainder of her life. She spent the bulk of her working career working for Utah State. She moved on later in life to work a few other odd jobs before retiring at 65.

Lynette lived a life full of laughter and love. She always had a smile on her face and loved to joke around. Lynette was especially close with her sister Julie and her boys Shane and Jarrod. Lynette loved to attend the activities of her nephews and their children. You always knew when Nettie was there because you could hear her loudly cheering and yelling the names of whom she was cheering for (Never Embarrassing??). 

Although never married her life was dedicated to family. From her pesky nephews and their children to the family of her special friend Shauna Balls. Lynette and Shauna shared a special friendship and were roommates for 40+ years. Shauna passed too early and Lynette was fortunate to have Shauna’s sister Shelly and her family to fill that void. 

Lynette lived a life of service and showed love for all she came in contact with wether it be at work or the theatre or even a simple stranger. Lynette was fond of her large extended family both on the Beattie and the Spackman sides where she built strong long-lasting bonds with her cousins and did all she could to stay in contact with them. 

There is no doubt there was a grand reunion with Lynette and her loved ones who had passed and she missed so much. Lynette was proceeded in death by her father Reed Spackman, her mother Thailia Spackman, her sister Julie Murray, and her best friend Shauna Balls. 

She is survived by brother in-law Terrel Murray, nephew Shane (Jamie) Murray, nephew Jarrod Murray, great nephews Tanner Murray, Kellen Murray, Dallen Murray, and great niece Emmalyn Murray.

There will be a short viewing at Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield starting at 10:30 am to 11:30 am and following that there will be a graveside service July 6th at 12:00 pm at the Richmond, UT cemetery.
