Mary Jean Gunnell Hanson

Mary Jean Gunnell Hanson passed away at home on March 26, 2006, after a valiant seven-year battle with cancer. She was born in Logan on September 25, 1947 to LaGrande Baxter and Blanche Winn Gunnell. Mary Jean grew up in Smithfield, but has lived the past several years in Oakton, Virginia. She is survived by her siblings: Eleanor Ron Lewis of Preston; Robert Linda Gunnell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Joyce Gilbert Larson of Providence. There will be a graveside memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on May 13 at the Smithfield Cemetery. All family and friends are invited to attend. The services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, May Jean requested donations be made in her name to Life with Cancer, 2832 Juniper St., Suite 203, Fairfax, VA 22031.
