Michael Robert Loyet born 12/28/1948 died on 12/14/2025 suddenly and peacefully at Logan regional Hospital with his partner in life since 1979 Nanette Seeley and family. He was the son of Racheal Allene Michael and Myron Michael Loyet, Brother to Philip Loyet, Barbara Theilmann and Patty Olson. Father of Ryan Michael Templeton, Misty Dawn Loyet, Justus Wellington Loyet, Rebecca Sara Loyet and Nicole Sena Loyet. His five grandchildren Dekoda Ryon Templeton, Hailey Nicole Winston, Lily Jack Loyet, Paisley Nicole Loyet, Argyle Reese Mason and his best friend Paul Steven who was always there for him no matter what.
He had an eclectic soul. An artist, bowler, chef, Lions club member and someone that could always make a room laugh or blush. His passion for art will live on forever. He inherited it from his mother who was an avid ceramicist. She passed that art down to him and then passed on to his two sons. Ryan took his art to extraordinary lengths via air brushing. His son Justus remembers crawling up on his art desk and helping contribute to his art and continued throughout his life. He grew up in California where he was a bartender, on the show Shebangs with Casey Kasem and American Bandstand. Later in his life he attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute. His homes were always like walking into an antique shop where every corner you turned around you found a new treasure. He likely was a pirate in another life and loved being by the sea. When he retired, he volunteered his time to read to elementary children. One of his favorite things was volunteering to drive the train at the American West Heritage center he always dressed the part for that extra flare.
He always loved a good excuse to do something fun or artsy, whether it was just to dress up or by sending a little glitter into somebody’s life even if it meant it was on your floor in a valentine. To his kids, he seemed like a magician, from putting food coloring in the milk to make it pink and then green for St. Patrick’s Day with green eggs and ham. He made elaborate Halloween decorations, designed the Black and White days billboards, The Ladies Hat party invitations and was one of the beating hearts when it came to celebrating The Blue’s Brother parties for years that brought friends and families together.
His last apartment was on the river where he could truly be at peace. He loved his plants and even propagated them to sell at the farmers market just for fun. He would give multiple plants out for free to small children that wanted one. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family and likely we will all have a Hawaiian shirt in the back of the closet just as a reminder of him. The family held a memorial and celebration of life on his birthday to swap memorial stories and joke.
