Nancy Kaye Lane

May 29, 1958 — January 21, 2024

Nancy Lane passed away on Jan 21, 2024. She was born in Logan Utah on May 29, 1958 to Willard Alton Hansen Jr and Mary Lucinda Munk.

Nancy grew up in Cache Valley, moving from Logan to Smithfield where she helped work on her family’s farm. In her high school years, Nancy was a baton twirler. She was always happy to pull out her baton, which she kept far into her life, and put on a show even later in her life.

As a young woman, Nancy married Tab Clint Nielsen and had 5 children: Tyler, Bryan John (BJ), Lisa, Landon, and Jessie. They were together for 18 years. After which, Nancy married Leslie (Les) Lane, who had two sons Pat Peralo and Tony Peralo. Nancy and Les enjoyed many years together until Les passed away in 2022.

Throughout her life, Nancy had a passion for photography. She would go into nature and capture its beauty through her lens. With photos of landscapes and wildlife, Nancy had an extraordinary talent for encapsulating the essence of the outdoors in her photographs. Her work memorialized countless family excursions and stands as physical reminders of the cherished moments she shared with loved ones.

Nancy embodied compassion, always seeking opportunities to extend kindness to those around her. Throughout various chapters of her life, she offered support to those unable to care for themselves, tending to them in their twilight years to ensure they received companionship. Whether the need was great or small, Nancy approached every opportunity with an eagerness to contribute, with a smile on her face and love in her heart.

Education was also important to Nancy. She put her education on hold when she started a family so she could focus on caring for her children and spouse. Later in life she was able to return to school and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho.
Nancy also was an avid world traveler. Throughout her life she visited England, Ukraine, Italy, Mexico, and Brazil. She spoke often about how each of these experiences resonated with her and how grateful she was to see the different cultures around the world. She loved learning about each new place and was eager to continue traveling.

Nancy is survived by:
4 siblings Cathy (Bob) Whitely, Mary Jo (Doug) Hansen, Debbie (John) Erickson, and Alton (Lisa) Hansen;
5 children Tyler (Rachel) Nielsen – Longmont CO, Bryan John (Tiffany) Nielsen – Brighton CO, Lisa (Moroni) Bento Rodrigues – McKinney TX, Landon Nielsen – Salt Lake City UT, Jessie Nielsen – Garland TX; 7 Grandchildren: Jordanna, Caiden, Gavin, Gracie, Noah, Khloe, & Julia;
