Olive Lyle Meyerhoffer, 79, died peacefully in her sleep on December 14, 2022, at Rick and Cinda Wymer’s home in Tooele, Utah, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and her brother.
Lyle was born on January 5, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Owen Barwell and Marion Elaine Saunders. She graduated from Highland High School, Salt Lake City, Utah in 1961. Lyle joined the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square in 1961-1981, for 20 years. She was the youngest to ever join at 18 and without an audition. She went to college at the University of Utah and there was where she met her husband, Jack S Meyerhoffer. After her retirement from the Tabernacle Choir, she joined a Cache Valley singing group called the Rainbow Singers, which she sang with for many years. Lyle worked many years as a medical assistant for Doctor Grahams in Hyrum, Utah and later for drug testing department at the Logan Regional Hospital Budge Clinic.
Lyle married Jack S Meyerhoffer, on December 21, 1962, in the Logan Temple. They raised five boys and one daughter. David, Ronald, Layne, Cinda (Rick), Rand (Michelle), and Dan (Chantha). They have 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Also, 4 step-grandchildren and their children. Lyle had such a Christlike character, and she was always the type to open her arms and door for anyone. She always sees the positive side of everyone she encountered.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Nelson Funeral Home 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah. The viewing will be held from 11:30 am-12:30 pm, following the funeral service at 1-2 pm. The grave dedication will be at 2:30 pm at the Hyrum Cemetery 525 East Main Street Hyrum, Utah.
