Russell Howard Wright passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 2nd, 2025 at Maple Springs in North Logan, Utah.

Russell was born in Preston, Idaho on October 23,1963 to Ramon Gerald and Lorraine Auger Wright.

He grew up on the family farm raising chickens, which later became part of Ritewood Eggs. During his youth, he was very active in Scouting. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of The Order of the Arrow. He attended the 1977 Boy Scout Jamboree in Moraine State Park, Pennsylvania with his two brothers.

Russell attended Preston High School, where he was active in the FFA program. He served as President. He graduated PHS in the Class of 1982. After high school, he attended BYU for a semester before leaving on a LDS mission to Belgium, Brussels. He later finished his mission in California, San Diego.

After returning home, he enrolled at USU. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.

On July 20,1984, he married Angela Jones in Logan, Utah. Together, they had 2 children; Joshua Alan and Stacey Lynn. They were later divorced.

On July 18, 1992, Russell married Cynthia Cole in the Jordan River Temple in West Jordan, Utah. They had 3 daughters: Bethany Kimberly, Chelsey Marie, and Madison Katilyn.

Russell had several jobs throughout his life. He worked at USU for 11 years in Computer Sciences. He owned a Pony Express Pizza franchise in Hyde Park for 2 years. He was the owner of Logan Taxi for 23 years. He also had several entrepreneurial ventures on the side.

Russell served as an officiator in the Logan Temple for 5 years. He had a kind heart and special concern for those in need. He helped many through difficult times in the Cache Valley area.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cole Wright, and his children: Joshua Wright (Carlie), Stacey Jones (Tanner) (Providence, UT), Bethany, Chelsey, and Madison Wright, all of Logan, Utah. Also by his grandchildren: Summer, Jace, and Jaxen. Also his mother Lorraine Wright (Franklin, ID), and his brothers: Randon (Sheila) Wright (Kaysville, UT), and Roger (Kim) Wright (Franklin, ID).

He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Wright and a grandchild, Josie Wright.

Funeral services will be held on May 10, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 502 E 300 N, Logan, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home (162 E 400 N) Logan, Utah, and again prior to the service Saturday from 10 -11.30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Franklin Idaho Cemetery.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Michael Francis, Dr. James Willmore, Dr. Jake Sanderson, and Dr. Brett Porter and the staff at Maple Springs for their loving care for Russell.
