Taya Page Berry

February 5, 2002 — January 13, 2024

Taya Page Berry returned home to the open arms of her Savior on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 from seizure complications following a brave and courageous battle with Acute Hemorrhagic Encephalitis. She was just 21 years old.

Taya was born on February 5th, 2002, in Logan, Utah. She was the sweetest friend and adored her 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. From the moment she was born she was like gravity, pulling everyone into her orbit. She had a contagious smile, infectious laugh, and a love of life that drew you in. She had a way of collecting friends everywhere she went and making them feel loved and adored through her outgoing personality, light, and love of being the center of attention.

As the oldest child and grandchild on both sides (until her brother Jaxon came along) she quickly became the center of our universe. In her short life Taya touched countless friends, family members, teammates, teachers, aids, doctors, nurses, and caregivers. Taya had a love of life, laughter, adventure, music and from a young age became obsessed with reading. Taya had an unrelenting drive and determination to succeed in whatever she put her mind to. Whether it was getting 4.0’s, being selected to model prom dresses, starting her own YouTube channel, making the high school drill team, or becoming a cheerleader Taya would never quit until she accomplished her goal. One might say she was a bit stubborn (you should have tried to win a debate with her), between her ability to talk fast and refusal to quit it was nearly impossible.

Taya loved to travel and see new places. One of her very favorite memories was going to New York City with her drill team and mom. She loved the beach, ocean, and sunsets. Taya always said the Oregon Coast was her happy place.

Shortly into her Junior year she was diagnosed with hemorrhagic ADEM. Against all odds and statistics, she fought her way back home. The last 5-years have been filled with highs and lows, laughter and tears, joy and pain. Through it all there was never a doubt that Taya was loved by many and brought the spirit of Christ to all those who knew her. For so many we came to realize that we needed her more than she needed us, and we learned so much more from her then we ever could teach her.

Taya leaves behind her parents, Doug and Valerie Berry; four younger siblings, Jaxon (brother, 20), Pacee (sister, 18), London (sister, 13), and Zeke (brother 10); her maternal grandparents Rick and Adrienne Lungman, many aunts, uncles (Justin Berry & Anderson Placido, Jessica & Kyle Iverson, Amber & Austin Turner, Rachel & Dustin Smith), and cousins who will intensely miss her every single day. She was greeted in Heaven by her paternal grandparents Scott and Judi Berry. Taya was a light to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She always dreamed big and has landed in the stars. We will love you for eternity Taya Bug!
