Walter Jay Blotter

June 14, 1946 — February 27, 2023

The earth gained a remarkable man on June 14, 1946, Walter Jay Blotter, “he was one of the good ones”. Jay passed away at his home on February 27, 2023 from complications with his lungs. Jay was born to Walter and Cora Blotter of Newton. 54 years ago this month he married Dianne Elizabeth Christensen, and what a ride they have had together! Jay and Dianne have 4 children that all reside in the area, he loved having his family close.
Jay was charitable and helped all those that he loved and cared about. He loved his family fiercely and was most happy when they were around him. He loved any activity that included having the family around. For many years Jay had horses and raced them with his brother, Larry, and enjoyed that era in his life. He then moved on to race cars and built one from scratch with his sons, Jason and Adam. It was a weekend highlight to race while all the family would go and support them. Another of his great loves was hunting, and being outdoors. Again, a hobby he could enjoy with his family. His love for collecting guns was on his mind at all times. It was one of his favorite topics of conversation. There was always a deal or a gun he was scouting out for his next purchase.
Jay worked until he retired at Moores Business forms where he found lifelong friends. Jay has a friend or a family friend everywhere he goes. He knew someone everywhere we went and tried to make everyone feel important.
Jay is survived by his wife, Dianne Blotter and children, Rachelle (Tracy) Moser, Jennifer (Justin) Roberts, Jason (Misty) Blotter, Adam (Trina) Blotter and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Sister, Linda (Richard) Felt. Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cora, his sister Jeanette Robinson and brother Larry Blotter.
A viewing will be held at the Newton LDS church (12 South 100 West) from 6-8 pm on Friday the 3rd. There will be a viewing beginning at 10 am on Saturday the 4th with funeral Services at 11:30 at the Newton church. Interment will follow at the Newton Cemetery.
